The CJ-4 exists as a single model prototype built in 1951--it also has flat front fenders. The CJ series continued with the CJ-5, CJ-6, CJ-7 and CJ-8. All CJ-5+ models came standard with a three- or four-speed-manual transmission and front and rear leaf-spring suspension. They had round headlights, and their front fenders curved over the front wheels, unlike the flat front fenders of earlier model. It is 4*4 version which is best for some off road route.

Safety features such as a larger wheelbase and extended sports bar were added in the 1990s. Also added were soft-tops, engine choices, air-conditioning and other options, and the model became more common for on-road use. The last one was produced in 1995. The first type of civilian Jeep, The CJ, was introduced as a work horse for farmers and construction workers. It was produced by Willys-Overland in 1945 and was the first of its kind. Its engine was the same as the military Jeep, a four-cylinder MB model. This first Jeep had large headlights, a side-mounted spare tire and an external fuel cap as well as other features that were also on military models. Different versions were produced in 1948 and 1953. Kaiser purchased the company in 1953 and added a six-cylinder engine, improved horsepower and other features that made the CJ more of an off-road vehicle than a utilitarian one. The V-8 engine was added when American Motors bought the company in 1970, and other models were introduced. Along the way, manufacturers changed, but the CJ remained influential. The power of engines define the limits of the Jeep and this was were modified to experiment the new outcome from the model to check out which model will Attract more people to Buy it. Basically so powerful engines were not avalaible in common model. It were made on demand and person can add modification according to its budget
Jeeps were developed for U.S. Army use in World War II.
